Future Ghost Wrestlers State Bound - A seventeen member contingent representing Kaukauna middle school and KRD youth wrestling departed from Riverview School for the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation State Tournament held at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison on March 23 and 24.
Over 30 youth wrestlers from Kaukauna competed in the qualifying regionals on March 10 with the top two in each age/weight bracket qualifying for State. Each state bracket included 16 entries from the eight qualifying regionals held statewide. The top six at state were awarded medals.

Three Kaukauna State Champions were crowned this year: Ty Lee, Trent Leon, and Ian Laatsch.
Medal winners include Logan Stumpf 3rd, Mason Campshure 2nd, John Diener 3rd, Sebastian Eagan 5th, Mikael Kolosso 3rd, Zach Lee 3rd, Justin Kloehn 3rd, Zach Frassetto 5th, and Alex Martin 4th.
Other state qualifiers were Mason VanZeeland, Keaton Kluever, Garrett Haen, Zack Kenney, and Mason Van Asten. Many of these youth will turn their attention to Freestyle (Olympic style) wrestling now and compete in the State Freestyle tournament the first weekend in May at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells.
